| My laboratory's research on actin and actin-binding proteins uses sophisticated microscopic, spectroscopic, computational, and biochemical techniques to investigate their structure and function. Chemical attachments of the probes to specific sites on actin and myosin are characterized using single molecule assays, molecular mechanics, FPLC, electrophoretic, western blotting, ultracentrifugation, and enzymatic analyses. Nanoscale measurements of resonance energy transfer during the contractile process, enable analysis of atomic models. | |||||||||||||||
