Lab Syllabus
Lab Manual & Supplies
Biology Laboratory Manual, 7th edition (customized), Vodopich and Moore. Please bring lab manual to each laboratory session.
Attendance
Attendance in lab is mandatory. Note: There are no make-up labs. If you are absent more than twice you may be academically dropped with the grade of WF for non-attendance.
Quizzes, Assignments and Exams
- A quiz will be given during the first ten minutes of each lab period, for a total of 12 quizzes. Questions will be composed of a variety of formats, including, but not limited to, short answer, fill in the blank, and matching.
- The lowest two quiz grades will be dropped at the end of the semester. For this reason, missed quizzes cannot be made-up for any reason. NOTE: Arriving late to lab after the quiz has been administered OR leaving the lab before the lab is completed will automatically result in a grade of "ZERO" on the quiz.
- Fourteen daily lab assignments are to be completed and placed within a lab notebook. Two lab assignments will be dropped at the end of the semester for a total of twelve (12) graded assignments. Late assignments will not be accepted. Students must be present to complete the assignments. Assignments may include, but are not limited to, lab summary questions, original student drawings, notes, and maintenance of workstation.
- A practical midterm exam will be administered halfway through the semester and a non-comprehensive, practical final exam will be administered at the end of the semester. Exams questions will include, but are not limited to, short answer, labeling / diagramming, fill-in-the-blank, multiple choice, as well as practical questions. There are no make-ups for missed exams. Exam grades will NOT be dropped.
