- This is another exciting academic year for DPGR
@ UNT, and we are adding two new faculty!
- We are delighted that
Dr.
Ione Hunt von Herbing has joined our Biology Department as a senior
scientist, brining
with her a highly regarded physiology program focusing on larval fish
energetics.
- Dr. Hiroshi Tazawa has joined
our group as Research Professor. Having had a stellar career
in Japan at the Muroran Institute of Technology, Dr. Tazawa will
spend ~8months/year in Denton working with our research group.
- We will also welcome several new
students, as well.
- Gauri Khandoker and Kelly
Reyna will join us as new
doctoral students.

- Beginning August 2006, awarded
a four year operating grant from the National Science Foundation
(NSF) entitled "Development of Cardiovascular Regulatory Mechanisms:
Exploring the Early Embyronic Frontier"
Ed Dzialowski Ph.D.
- Beginning August 2004, awarded
a three year operating grant from the National Science Foundation
(NSF) entitled "Developmental Physiology of the Avian Ductus
Arterosi".
- Pam Padilla Ph.D.
- Beginning September 2004, awarded
a five year operating grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH)
entitled "Genetics/Cell Biology of Anoxia in Caenorhabditis elegans
".
